The G-Spot on the South Fork Smith River

The "G Spot" is a playspot on the South Fork Smith that I had been hearing about for years. At lower flows it's a hole, and when water rises it's a wave hole. At all flows it has great eddy service. The G Spot is not easy to find if you don't know the location, but once discovered, finding it again is no problem. Below the playspot the river is class II-III for several scenic miles. The first time put in at Sandy Camp River Access, and depending on your comfort level you can take out above the South Fork Gorge IV-IV+ or continue downstream.

Ideal flows are reported to be 8,000cfs at Jedidiah Smith. At 4,000cfs the rock forming the G Spot makes it's presence known.
