I couldn't resist buying it. Every
time I would use the Nikon FM2 and return to the (smallest at the time)
Nikon FX D600 I'd be left puzzling over what happened in camera design.
The technology has come far enough for them to be small, why is bigger
better and where are the articulating rear screens? It's slightly
taller and narrower but the heft feels about the same as the FM2. It
feels
smaller in hand. I find the Sony A7 ergonomics a step down from the
NEX-7, but controls are a step up with more custom buttons and more
features to select from for each button. Once the controls slip into
muscle memory I'm sure it will be a better handling camera, even if the
controls don't fall perfectly under hand. I didn't get any Sony lenses
with it and am using an adapter for Nikon F mount. Image quality from
raw is just what I'd expect, I can't tell the difference from the D600
except less slightly unfocused shots.
